This condiment is one of my absolute favorites because it’s insanely delicious while being easy to make and store. It’s a blend of sweet and spicy and is especially yummy when made with seasonally fresh fruit. It’s a perfect condiment to elevate any simple chicken, fish, or pork preparation, or even add it to a simple sandwich or meat & cheeseboard (my fav way!).
The recipe below is available to subscribers of Garden to Kitchen:
2 ½ cups husked ground cherries
5 cloves garlic, grated
1/2 cup sugar
1T mustard seed
4T mustard powder
1/4 cup white balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
Salt to taste
Add all ingredients to a small pot, bring to simmer over medium-low heat, simmer until it’s reached your decide texture, mine took about 45 minutes. Either store for week or two in the fridge, or freeze for future enjoyment.
